An online platform that enables retailers and brands to share best practice on sustainability with their supply chain has been launched by 2degrees, the sustainability network.
The purpose of the global platform, Manufacture 2030, is to boost cross-industry collaboration by enabling businesses to engage with their suppliers in large numbers.
Firms of all sizes will be able to use it to co-operate on issues including waste, water, energy and cost reduction. The website comprises sections that are open to all users to share best practice and experience, but also private areas where firms can work directly with suppliers.
There are also tools to help managers to cut costs, risks and impacts, and carry out benchmarking. The platform’s partners include the CDP, Carbon Trust, the World Business Council for Sustainable Development and waste body Wrap.
