Transport for London is among six organisations penalised for failing to comply with climate change regulations.
The penalties, totaling more than £42,000, are for breaches of the carbon reduction commitment scheme (CRC).
Regulator the Environment Agency handed TfL the largest fine, at £20,000, for failing to pay for sufficient allowances to cover its carbon emissions for the 2013/14 compliance year by the 31 October 2014 deadline.
A spokesman for TfL said that its CRC breach was due to an administrative error when submitting its data.
The following firms were fined for the same reason:
• Havelock Europa (£5,000).
• MacDermid Continental Investments (£2,500)
• VTX Holdings (£2,500)
• Champneys Henlow (£10,000)
Flamingo Land Resort was fined £2,940 for failing to submit its report for 2013/14 on time.
The announcement takes the number of firms fined so far to 23. The scheme is due to be scrapped in 2019 after the government announced it would reduce the number business energy efficiency tax schemes.
